                The 11th annual World Travel Awards Gala Ceremony, an event dedicated to the tremendous 
                contributions and achievements of the travel industry, was hosted for the third time in 
                the Caribbean the 11th December 2004, on the island of
                Barbados.  
                 
                The online voting system once again enabled the travel agents worldwide the opportunity to 
                let the world know who they think are the WORLD'S BEST in the Travel Industry, further 
                enhancing the value of the World Travel Awards as the professional's choice. Over 2.5 
                million voting forms were broadcasted to over 150,000 frontline agents and 80,000 travel 
                agencies worldwide. The voting was up by 18%, as more and more people now
                recognize the 
                global significance of achieving World Travel Awards winner's status. The winners were 
                announced at the awards gala ceremony. 
                 
                The World Travel Awards was conceived in 1993 to acknowledge and celebrate excellence in
                the world's travel and tourism industry. Now in its eleventh year, travel professionals
                and discerning travelers have come to regard the World Travel Awards as the very best
                endorsement that a travel product could hope to receive.
