The service is held at sunset on a desert island beach, under a hut made of coconut trees and leaves. The ceremony is celebrated according to the local traditions with a dowry, exchange of vows and rings. The melodious drums of the local fishermen accompany the couple on their journey back to their villa. All the guests are invited to participate in toasting to the happiness of the couple with Kurumba local coconut, and enjoy the drums ceremonial dances. The Ceremony

Wedding Ceremony will be conducted on Embudhoo's beach (Desert Island).

The wedding will be traditionally held bearing in mind that it is not an official ceremony, as registration will not take place and no legal certificate will be issued.

Description

Few hours before sunset, the Bride dressed in traditional sarong and the Minister (Head of Ceremony) will arrive to the island on sailing dhoni, whilst the Groom dressed in traditional attire, is waiting on the beach.

Traditional Bodu Beru, Maldivian Drums, will be announcing the Bride's arrival. The Bride will be met by one of the management team and receive two palm leaf laces.

When the Bride is walking towards the ceremony, a line of employees will form a palm leaf entrance. The palm leaf will be lifted and by the time she reaches the end of the path, the groom will be waiting for her. The Bride will hand the other lace to the groom. Hand in hand they will approach the Head of Ceremony.

The groom will then ask consent from the Bride's father who will be seated under the ceremonial Coconuts hut

Once the bride's father consent is obtained, the Minister will conduct a short, beautiful ceremony culminating in exchange of vows, signing of the wedding certificate, exchange the ring, celebratory the traditional ritual of cutting wedding cake. It will end by the service of fresh coconuts to the whole gathering and Champagne to the bride and groom that will then toast the couple !

During the exchange of vows, the ritual of the Dowry will be respected, when a witness will ask the groom to quote the Dowry he will remit to the bride. This symbolic Dowry can be a local exotic gift or money.

Following the ceremony, the couple will be escorted to their villas by all attendance and accompanied by traditional drummers "Bodu Beru". The villa will be decorated with the flowers and local leaves ...

The wedding dinner will be served on your villa terrace or on the beach by a private chef and butler, with the Indian Ocean as a background. The romantic dinner will be a combination of well presented plates and grilled fish, lobster, prawns and meat.

Following morning, a Maldivian breakfast will be served in the Villa.
